Candy Cane Puffs: A Festive Treat with a Peppermint Twist

I’m a firm believer that every holiday cookie platter needs a touch of peppermint. It’s always fun to see what disappears first when sharing with friends and family. Let me tell you, this new addition to our holiday lineup didn’t last long—it was gone in a flash!

  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 oz. white chocolate
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes

Let’s cook!

  • In a large bowl, beat together the butter and the sugar until light and fluffy
  • Add the egg, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined
  • Gradually stir in the salt and flour until the dough comes together
  • Chill the dough for one hour
  • Shape into one inch balls and place on a parchment lined baking sheet
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then let the cookies cool completely
  • While the cookies are cooling, melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler
  • Dip the cooled cookies into the melted white chocolate, then into the crushed candy canes

You’ll get just the right hint of white chocolate with a bold burst of peppermint—holiday magic in every bite! Shout-out to my aunt for sharing this holiday treasure!
