Classic Snickerdoodles

I firmly believe that there’s always a reason to bake a batch of cookies and these Snickerdoodles have been a staple in my kitchen for years! They fill the house with that warm, comforting cinnamon smell while they bake and as a bonus make 3-4 dozen so you’ll have plenty to share with friends (or stash away for later)!

Easy Homemade Snickerdoodles (Makes 3–4 Dozen!)

These classic Snickerdoodles are soft, chewy, and coated in cinnamon sugar — the kind of cookie that fills your kitchen with the warmest smell while they bake. This easy homemade recipe makes 3–4 dozen cookies, perfect for sharing (or keeping close). A cozy, reliable cookie you’ll bake again and again.
Course Dessert
Servings 3 dozen

Ingredients
  

  • c sugar
  • 1 c unsalted butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • c flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ c sugar for rolling
  • 2 tsp cinnamon for rolling

Let’s Cook!
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 375°.
  • Mix sugar, butter, and eggs in a large bowl.
  • Stir in cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt, mixing until well blended.
  • Add the flour.
  • Roll dough into 1¼ inch balls.
  • Mix ¼ cup sugar + cinnamon.
  • Roll balls into cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  • Bake 8–10 minutes until set.
  • Remove from cookie sheet.
  • Cool on wire rack.
